Cinnamon Babka

Watercolor on paper, 9” x 6”, 2020

Cinnamon Babka is a nod to Seinfeld’s Dinner Party episode, where Elaine brings a “lesser” quality dessert to the party. This painting is my way of stepping up the game, going from something less desirable toward a better quality of life balance. Cinnamon Babka is a statement to take a stand for no more second best’s. Putting myself first began with this body of artwork. I also can’t deny that babka is a classic dessert part of my Ashkenazi heritage.
